Urban Edge Properties Signs La-Z-Boy For New Store At Goucher Commons
Urban Edge Properties (NYSE:UE) has announced a long-term lease at Goucher Commons in Towson, MD with La-Z-Boy, a global leader in residential furniture. The new 11,605SF store is the second deal the company has signed with the increasingly popular brand and brings the center to 100% leased. Goucher Commons sits at the heart of a dense retail corridor with easy access to Route 695, which services the entire Baltimore metropolitan area. Towson is home to Goucher College and Towson University.
Chris Kiersz, Senior Real Estate Manager for La-Z-Boy Incorporated said, “We are excited to partner with Urban Edge in the relocation of our La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries store to Goucher Commons in Towson, Maryland. As one of our six locations servicing the Baltimore market, this location better positions La-Z-Boy to service Baltimoreans at a top shopping center in the area. A grand opening is targeted for later this year, and we look forward to continuing to serve the greater Towson area.”
Anchored by Sprouts Farmers Market, Goucher Commons offers a varied lineup of quality national retailers including DSW, Golf Galaxy, HomeGoods, Ulta, Five Below, Kirkland’s, DXL, and Mattress Firm. Additionally, a number of popular fast casual dining options are open at the property, including Bonchon Chicken, Chipotle, and Noodles & Company.
“This new full-service La-Z-Boy furniture store will be adjacent to Sprouts and Ulta and the three will benefit from complementary customer bases,” said Joshua Birns, of Urban Edge Properties. “Goucher Commons is home to a combination of essential retail and in-demand dining concepts that provides an ideal location for their expansion, and we expect new customers as well as our local loyalists to be excited for what they offer.”
Michael Patz of KLNB worked with La-Z-Boy, and Ryan Wilner and Michael Ginsburg from KLNB represented Urban Edge in the transaction. The Timonium location has since closed.
