Microsoft Corp.'s staff cuts are hitting Cockeysville-based video game developer responsible for one of the most popular online games ever made. Rockville-based ZeniMax Media Inc., the Microsoft-owned developer of video game series like The Elder Scrolls and Fallout, plans to lay off 62 employees at 200 International Circle in Cockeysville by Oct. 15, according to a filing with the Maryland Work Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) log.
The suburban Baltimore office is the headquarters for the developer’s online games branch, ZeniMax Online Studios, which is responsible for Elder Scrolls Online, a massive multiplayer game set in the same universe as the popular Skyrim and Oblivion games.
