Summer hours at the Fire Museum of Maryland in Lutherville start June 5.

Extended Wednesday through Saturday, 10 - 4, summer hours at the Fire Museum of Maryland start June 5. The extended summer hours run through the end of August.
In September, the Museum returns to its Saturday only winter schedule, with the exception of additional hours in December when the Holiday Train Garden is on display.
When the heat and humidity of summer move in, the air-conditioned Fire Museum is the perfect outing for visitors of all ages. Kids love the Discovery Room, where they can try on pint-sized turnout gear, and climb on a real fire engine. Older visitors are wowed by seeing one of the largest collections of fire apparatus in the nation all under one roof. Exhibits include a working fire alarm office, and a newly updated and expanded look at the Great Baltimore Fire of 1904.
Restoration work on the Baltimore City Fireboat, the "Mayor Thomas D'Alesandro, Jr." continues, and the fireboat is tentatively scheduled to be opened for "work-in-progress" tours on June 15.
Tickets to the Museum, at 1301-R York Road, Lutherville, are available at the door. There is ample free parking. www.FireMuseumMD.org. 410-321-7500.
