MENTORING MONDAY

Last month Deborah S. Phelps, executive director of The Education Foundation, served as a mentor for the 10th Annual Mentoring Monday, sponsored by the Baltimore Business Journal. Phelps was one of 30 mentors who were hand-selected by BBJ from a range of industries. The mentors included founders, CEOs, innovators, and board members. The event was in Hunt Valley.

The event took place in more than 40 cities across America and was designed to connect and empower businesswomen through meaningful introductions and engaging conversations. The morning kicked-off with a keynote from Clara Shih, founder of Hearsay Systems, CEO of Salesforce Service Cloud, and author of “The Facebook Era.” The keynote was followed by seven rounds of speed coaching.

Dr. Heather RC Wooldridge, the foundation’s associate director said, “It was so inspiring to be in a room with so many influential and powerful women who were there to learn from each other and to help each other!”
