Say hello to Gabrielle! Senior at Dulaney High, Chief Editor of the Dulaney Griffin
Newest journalism intern Gabrielle Cassini, hopped on board the Hunt Valley Life staff on September 6th. 2024 marks her 2nd semester before college, and a continuation of an intern partnership with DHS and the county.
The honor student is on the varsity track and field team, is an allied soccer assistant and a member of the One Love and Mental Health clubs at Dulaney.
If not in school you can spot her on the trails of Loch Raven, the Starbucks drive-thru, or shopping with friends. Cassini’s passion for journalism fuels her academic success as she presumes the role as Chief Editor of the Dulaney Griffin.
Whether she is digging up the latest news or posting TikTok videos to the Griffin, she is determined to enlighten the community through her featured articles.
However, Cassini’s knowledge is not limited to Dulaney news. She is constantly on the lookout for current events within her community, and Hunt Valley Life has become a resource she likes to reference. We have the best events around-- all local and all fun.
The uplifting stories Hunt Valley Life highlights are not only “inspiring,” but Cassini mentions she admires how they are personable and able to engage readers. Because of her sweet tooth and soft spot for animals, some of Cassini’s favorite features from Hunt Valley include; the furry mammals found in the Chesapeake Bay, the delicious featured ice cream flavors from Prigel Creamery, and the perks of peach season.
Her appreciation for the platform does not stop there. The weekly events that are posted allows Cassini to stay updated with things she can do in Timonium. From local concerts to new restaurants opening, Cassini was able to discover it all through Hunt Valley Life.
As a part time nanny this summer, Cassini was even able to come across kid-friendly events that were posted to the webpage, and brought the kids. Cassini is enthusiastic about her internship with Hunt Valley Life and says, “I plan to gain a lot of experience and become a voice for the community through interactive journalism.”
New advertising in our newsletter, on the site, and on Best Of Hunt Valley, during her semester directly benefits her college tuition and fees. Gabrielle also earns a stipend from HVL, and valuable hands-on experience in all aspects of community news publishing.
Hunt Valley Life officially welcomes her as an intern to the team and cannot wait to see what else she accomplishes. Please check out her videos on our YouTube channel: INFO HERE
