The Towson University track & field team concluded the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Indoor Championships on Sunday, securing first place for the third time in school history with a total of 84 points.
James Madison and Richmond tied for second place with 79 points, followed by Northeastern in fourth with 66.5 points.
Leeann Redlo kicked off the final day of competition with a third-place finish in the 60m hurdles finals, matching her PR of 8.74.
In the 60m finals, Maya Tucker clocked a 7.60 to take first place in the event.
Piper Jons and Cristal Cuervo secured podium finishes in the 400m finals, with Jons taking first and Cuervo claiming third. Cuervo's time of 54.42 marked a season-best for the senior.
Jons claimed another gold in the 200m finals, setting a new ECAC record with a time of 23.34. Tucker delivered a season-best performance in the same event, securing second place with a time of 23.68. Christal Pommells also set a PR of 24.87 in the 200m finals.
In Shot Put, Beyonka Lee set a PR with a mark of 13.18m to secure third place, moving her into 9th place all-time in the event.
Kiara Murray earned fourth place in the Triple Jump with a mark of 11.82m, tying for 5th all-time in the event.
Maya Tucker, Jasmine Scott, Cristal Cuervo, and Piper Jons secured the victory for the Tigers with a record-breaking performance in the 4x400m relay finals, adding 10 points to Towson's total score. Their combined time of 3:39.97 shattered their previous record by more than a second.
Awards Ceremony
During the awards portion of the meet, Piper Jons was recognized as the Most Outstanding Performer of the Championship after setting an ECAC record in the 200m finals as well as placing first in the 400m finals and the 4x400m relay finals.
