At 9:48 on 5/30/2025, E441 was alerted to respond as the 4th due engine to the area of Falls Road and Gunpowder Road in the Hampstead area (Box 85-21) for a reported dwelling fire. E441 arrived to find a 2-story single-family dwelling with fire showing from Sides A & B. E441 assumed first due engine responsibilities and established command, stretched multiple hose lines, and initiated a fire attack from the exterior.
After completing a 360° evaluation of the structure, it was determined that Side C was mostly unaffected by the fire. E441, E60, and R4 (Manchester) made access to the basement and confirmed no active fire. The same crews stretched an 1.75” attack line from Side C into the structure and extinguished most of the visible fire on Floor 1 and then Floor 2.
Crews were unable to safely make access to the attic area from the interior, and no truck access was available to the roof due to live power lines.DC4 assumed command and resumed an exterior fire attack strategy. Attempts were made to extinguish the fire in the attic via gable vents on Sides B and D, but crews were ultimately unsuccessful.E441, S442, TSU444, and TT446 operated on location for 4 hrs.
Engine 451 & Tanker 454 responded with a total of 7 members to this working house fire in Upperco late last night. Tanker 454 was on scene for 4 hours and cleared around 0200hrs this morning. The tanker shuttled 13,000 gallons of water from a near by stream to the scene. Once cleared the tanker returned to service at 0330hrs after a through flushing of the tank and pump in Hunt Valley, Our closest hydrant. Due to the heavy rains during the incident the stream used as the primary water source was significantly muddy.
Cockeysville Engine 391 was alerted to assist units for a structure fire in Upperco Volunteer Fire Company station 85's area. Engine 391 and TSU394 responded. Engine 441 Hereford Volunteer Fire Company arrived to find a well involved single family dwelling. Units operated on scene for several hours. E391 crew assisted with fireground operations and 394's crew assisted with water supply.
Crews from Baltimore and Carroll Counties assisted with extinguishment.
