MASS TRANSIT

Not everyone who lives in Baltimore County has access to mass transit, so the county is conducting a survey to help figure out if it’s practical or feasible.

“Microtransit is a flexible, on-demand transportation service that typically uses smaller vehicles like a van or shuttle,” said Deborah Price, lead transportation planner for Baltimore County’s Department of Public Works and Transportation. “If someone in your community can currently use a ride share app, in order to get a ride, this is the same thing. It’s no different. There’s not going to be a big MTA bus coming through your neighborhood.”

Baltimore County Department of Public Works and Transportation is requesting that residents in rural Baltimore County complete a survey on Microtransit. While this survey is invasive, I would recommend offering some level of feedback to the County so that they know where you understand. You can email at: publicworks@baltimorecountymd.govThe survey is here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/C76MZRF

DPWT is exploring the introduction of Microtransit—a shared-ride, on-demand public transit service. We are looking for feedback from the Parkton, White Hall, Hereford, Monkton, Glencoe, Jacksonville, and Kingsville communities in order to determine your transportation needs and preferences. Survey deadline: April 30, 2026.

Join DPWT senior leadership for a meeting to discuss our rural roads on Tuesday, May 12, from 6 to 8 p.m. This year’s meeting will be held in-person at the Baltimore County Ag Center (1114 Shawan Road, Cockeysville, MD 21030). RSVP or submit questions no later than May 5, 2026: tinyurl.com/ruralrdmeeting2026
